A new study by Hive highlights the main selling points of a dream home. The number one feature was solar panels, cited by 68% of respondents while 67% of respondents mentioned good roof insulation.
A smart heating system was listed by 62% of respondents, natural lighting was listed by 53% of respondents and 48% of respondents said they believe a smart energy meter is the ideal addition to their property. Also, 39% of respondents believed an EV charger for their driveway was an excellent addition to their home.
With a growing level of interest in EV chargers and electronic cars, it is likely that this will become a common feature in many homes.

And there is true value in making these changes – as net zero technology from solar panels to smart thermostats and EV chargers, is helping customers to better track their energy usage, set schedules and keep costs down. As electric cars increase in popularity, at-home chargers, like our new EV charger, will likely become the norm and worth investing in now.”
